Samsung Electronics Australia have just announced that its premium curved gaming monitors, the Odyssey G7 and G9, will be arriving in Australia soon! This is excellent news for anyone looking to unleash the full potential of their high-end graphics cards.
The headline feature of these monitors is a QLED display with 1000R curvature! 1000R curvature is the cutting edge in monitor immersion. The curve matches that of the human eye, resulting in a more comfortable viewing experience. It is a curve that has to be seen to be believed, but be careful – after experiencing the immersion of a large 1000R QLED screen, you may never be willing to go back to flat panels again!
Of course, an impressive curve isn’t the be-all-and-end-all when it comes to a premium gaming experience. Thankfully, Samsung are ticking many other boxes with the Odyssey G7 and G9 series of monitors, with features that should leave gamers salivating. The G7 will be available in large 27-inch and 32-inch, while the G9 packs a whopping 49-inch display. Those large displays should look brilliant, even at close range, thanks to the QLED WQHD (2560 x 1440) resolution on the G7 models and the world’s first Dual Quad High-Definition (DQHD; 5120×1440) resolution on the G9. There’s never been a better time to ditch the dual monitor setup and replace it with one stunning package!
A 240Hz refresh rate paired with a 1ms (GTG) response time and both G-Sync and AMD Freesync compatibility assert the gaming credentials of the Odyssey G7 and G9 monitors, providing arguably the smoothest and most immersive gaming experiences to date.
The extreme gaming credentials of the Odyssey G7 and G9 are matched by their stunning good looks. The infinity core light on the rear of both the G7 and G9 is a thing of beauty. It can dim or remain static during gameplay and change colour based on the user’s preferences. With RGB an almost mandatory requirement of custom PC gaming builds these days, the infinity core light of Odyssey series offers the perfect accompaniment. The Odyssey G7 monitors have a matte black exterior finish, while the G9 certainly stands out in it’s sleek white exterior.
The Samsung Odyssey G7 and G9 go on sale 3rd August, with pre-orders starting from 17th July for the G9 through Harvey Norman and from the 20th July for the G7 through Mwave, Scorptec, PC Case Gear, PLE Computers, Computer Alliance, Centrecom, and Online Centre.
Price and Pre-order Information
Pricing for the Odyssey series starts at a very reasonable RRP of $999 for the G7 27-inch. The G7 32-inch is probably the value pick of the three, with the extra screen real estate over the 27-inch for just $100 more (RRP $1,099), while the show-stopping Odyssey G9 49-inch has a price tag to match it’s supreme specification – RRP $2,799. Considering its incredible features, that pricing for the G9 actually makes it highly competitive in its class, and those who have been prepared to drop serious money on their battlestation will see value in the G9’s ability to unleash the true potential of their machine.
