My sunday Photo – Golden Pool
It’s amazing how many times you can visit the same place, but see it completely differently each time. Oak Park in Cronulla is a place I visit regularly, mainly because it’s along the path of my favourite running track in Sydney. I often stop there to take in some fresh air and watch the new day begin.
I have posted several photos from this location before. I think these may just be my favourite ones yet. The photos were taken in that magical light about half-an-hour before dawn. The angle was such that the first rays of golden light to reach over the horizon reflected off the still rock pool, while the rest of the ocean reflected the deep blue/black of the predawn sky. It was the perfect opportunity for some long exposure shots with the Nikon D5100 on a tripod.

Hi James, what stunning photos! That time of the morning is a special time of day. I must admit I find the silhouette of the woman a little eerie, like a spectre greeting the day, before disappearing into the sea until the next rising of the sun.
