My Sunday Photo Big Wave Fun

My Sunday Photo for this week is titled Big Wave Fun

This afternoon we made our way to one of our favourite parks. While Hannah and Emma had a play, I wandered down to the beach with the Panasonic Lumix Tz110 in hand. I had been eager to get the camera outside and have some fun with it.

Turns out, I couldn’t have asked for a better day. Large surf had closed all the beaches for swimmers, but it had created ideal conditions for some of the more adventurous beach-goers. Kiteboarders and windsurfers were out in full force. It was a great way to explore the telephoto aspect of the TZ110. All of the following photos have undergone some adjustments.

Cronulla Panorama
Panorama of the Cronulla beaches. Photo stitched together from two TZ110 photos (click to enlarge).

It is hard to gain a sense of perspective with this panorama. The beaches of Cronulla sprawl for kilometres. The building that says “Cronulla RSL Memorial Club” is about 1.8km away!

This bloke knew what he was doing!

The beach
We had a little paddle in the water, but we didn’t go out far. There were dangerous rips all along the beach today.

Windsurfing Big wave fun
I tried windsurfing once. It’s bloody hard work! I can’t even imagine it in these conditions.

Kiteboarding Big wave fun
How do they do it without getting all tangled up?

It was a great day for some big wave fun, and an excellent opportunity for me to get out and try the camera. I had the Panasonic Lumix Tz110 set to auto and It performed very well. The telephoto was great, a lot of this action was happening a long way off shore.

Disclosure – Panasonic provided Blog Of Dad with the Panasonic LUMIX TZ110 for the purpose of review. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own, based on my experiences with the Panasonic LUMIX TZ110. For further information, please visit my disclosure statement.

Strangely enough I was watching people do the same this week. Accept I didn’t consider going in. The sea is cold in the uk! #mysundayphoto

Oh I’d love to try this, almost as much as my boys would. One day! Lovely photos and such a beautiful blue sky.
