My Sunday Photo – Japan Flashback – Food

My Sunday Photo this week is another flashback to Japan. This time I’m going all the way back to my second trip to Japan in 2013, and it is all about the food!

Last night we ordered take-away from our favourite Japanese fine-dining restaurant. My first mouthful took me right back to a special time and place – a small village in the mountains called Takayama. We stayed in a traditional Japanese guesthouse and enjoyed the pure delight of a kaiseki (Japanese multi-course dinner) two nights in a row. They were the most incredible meals I have ever eaten in my life. Naturally (because it was served at a table in out room) I took plenty of photos to document the experience.

The sashimi prawn was a little hard to stomach (I really did not like the texture), but the rest was food perfection.

As always on a Sunday, I’m linked up to the excellent #MySundayPhoto linky. It’s hosted by Darren Coleshill on the website Photalife. I highly recommend you click on the link (or the badge below) and check out everyone’s photos.

The photos are amazing. Food photography, which I occasionally have to do, is very difficult and i’m very impressed by the pics. That said, i can’t quite identify all the foods (though I don’t really do sushi so that’ll be my fault!). hope you’re keeping well and COvid free down under #mysundayphoto

Photograhing food and making it look tasty isn’t easy – good job!

That really does look amazing. I think the only time I’ve eaten Japanese food was in Amsterdam (coincidentally also in 2013) and it was delicious.
