Are you looking to fit out the home office with a high-yield A3 wide format printer? Do low-cost replacement ink bottles appeal to you? The Epson EcoTank Pro ET-16600 should be on your radar.
Earlier this year, the A4 EcoTank ET-2750 and ET-4750 were racking up the awards for their cost-effective, quality printing properties. The EcoTank Pro ET-16600 is Epson’s second generation of A3 EcoTank printer and it follows the same philosophy.
Epson have ditched the expensive and low-capacity ink cartridges in favour of easy-to-fill, supersized ink tanks. These translate to up to 2,800 colour and up to a whopping 4,500 pages in black right out of the box!
With that many prints available right from purchase, it should be a while before you even think about refilling the substantial tanks. The good news is that, when you do, replacement bottles cost as little as thirty dollars and hold enough ink for up to 6000 pages in colour and a massive 7500 pages in black & white!
The multifunction Epson EcoTank Pro ET-16600 can copy and scan pages up to A3 (11″ x 17″). It also features a 500-sheet paper capacity and rear specialty-paper feed. The ET-16600 can even fax, which (incredibly) is still very much a thing. Some of us new to work-from-home might just have found out about that the hard way over the past few months.
Epson have considered the needs of users and designed the EcoTank Pro ET-16600 for efficient use. There is not much worse in a workday than the feeling of life slowly wasting away while hand-feeding a large document through a scanner, one page at a time. The EcoTank Pro ET-16600 comes with a 50-sheet automatic document feeder that can duplex print, copy, scan or fax.
As well as 2 X 250-sheet front loading paper trays, the Epson EcoTank Pro ET-16600 has a speciality tray to accommodate options such as envelopes, card stock and labels.
As for print quality, expect the Epson EcoTank Pro ET-16600 to deliver accurate and detailed prints through the PrecisionCore MicroTFP print chip – a digital chip that produces dots at the micron level — 1/100th the size of a human hair! It gives users ultra-sharp text, as well as stunning graphics and images — all with smooth gradations on both plain and specialty paper.
Each nozzle on the printhead delivers up to 50,000 droplets per second, which translates to fast printing speeds of up to 25 ISO ppm for black & white, and 12 ISO ppm for colour.
The Epson EcoTank Pro ET-16600 offers easy wireless connection, with the latest wireless standard supported. Wi-Fi Direct means that no router is required, enabling users to print from almost anywhere. The ET-16600 can also be connected to a network via its built-in ethernet port.
Epson’s new EcoTank Pro ET-16600 is available now via www.epson.com.au and from all authorised Epson retailers and resellers across Australia with an RRP of $1,699.00
